What to offer Krishna at home: some easy ideas
Makhan-mishri, milk, fruit and tulsi: an easy way to offer bhog from your own kitchen.
Updated 25 Oct 2026
Offering bhog does not need a big setup. Devotion and cleanliness are what count.
A few easy ones
- Makhan-mishri: the story of Braj mentions it most often as Krishna's favourite.
- A glass of cool or lightly warm milk.
- Seasonal fruit, a banana, apple or grapes.
- Home-made white sandesh, payasam or kheer.
- A tulsi leaf on top of whatever you offer.
How
Cook in a clean place after bathing, without tasting as you go. Set the plate or bowl before the deity, pray for a while, then take it back and eat it together as prasad.
Leave out onion and garlic, and do not offer anything your family itself does not eat.
