Vrindavan month by month: what happens when
Which festival and what weather to expect in Vrindavan in each part of the year, an easy plan for your trip.
Updated 25 Oct 2026
Dates move every year, so these are rough months.
- December to January: cold and foggy. Fewer people, calm darshan.
- February: Basant Panchami and the preparations for Holi.
- March: Holi, and the Lathmar of Barsana and Nandgaon.
- April: Ram Navami, and the heat starts to build.
- May to June: fierce heat, and the chandan seva of Akshaya Tritiya. Not a good time for the elderly.
- July to August: the rains, Jhulan, Guru Purnima. Humid weather.
- August to September: Janmashtami and Radha Ashtami. Very heavy crowds.
- October: Sharad Purnima, and the weather starts to turn pleasant.
- October to November: the month of Kartik, Diwali, Govardhan Puja. Lovely weather but crowded.
For calm, go in winter. For a festival, go in that festival's week. For comfort, late October to February.
